XBOX gives more details on the digital licenses obtained via discs
XBOX Insiders now have access to the feature that allows them to convert disc-based games into digital licenses. The general public will have to wait a little longer before they can take advantage of this new feature, which is designed to make physical titles more easily accessible.
In an FAQ, Microsoft provided several details about this feature. First, it’s noted that not all Xbox One and Xbox Series discs are eligible. This eligibility "may change over time, and varies due to technical, licensing, publishing, manufacturing, and other factors". Users will also need to prove they still own the disc; otherwise, the digital license may be revoked or restricted. You must not sell the disc, lose it, or lend it out for too long.
It’s also worth noting that Xbox Play Anywhere is currently available. Additionally, only the first disc of multi-disc games is supported. Finally, expansions and DLC included on discs (via Ultimate or Complete Editions) may be compatible.
