The GTA VI effect may already be impacting console inventory. Just a few hours after the game’s big reveal on Netflix, the PS5 Pro was snapped up by consumers. This phenomenon had been predicted by some analysts several months ago.

As a result, this PS5 Pro stockout is most noticeable in the United States. Most specialty retailers no longer have any consoles available for sale. Only the direct.playstation online store still has units in stock at this time.

In Europe, the trend is different. The PS5 Pro remains widely available on most websites. Unlike in the U.S., it’s direct.playstation that’s currently out of stock in countries like France.

For now, we don’t know what improvements will actually be made to GTA VI on the PS5 Pro.
