Rockstar issues an official statement regarding GTA VI leaks and won't delay the game
Upon seeing the statement released by Rockstar Games on Wednesday, many players likely feared they were about to witness another delay for GTA VI. However, the company simply wanted to reassure the community and, above all, address the leaks.
Simply put, Rockstar Games expressed deep disappointment over these leaks and apologized for keeping players waiting so long. Development of the game is finally nearing completion, and the release date of November 19, 2026, remains unchanged.
"Dear all,
We know that many of you have been waiting to hear fromr us to regarding the events of the past week. It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time. We are very sorry that everything has taken so long— from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know.
We are very excited for everyone to see the extended look tomorrow. It has taken longer than we wated to get it ready, but as with everything we do, we know we need to exceed your expectation, and we are determined to deliver at the level you expect and deserve. While it is unfortunate that the intended gameplay experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19.
We want to thank the members of the community who have sent messages of support throughout the week—your words mean far more to the team than you could ever imagine. We’re creating this game for you, and without you, we wouldn’t be able to make games at all.
We look forward to sharing more with you soon."
