The first figures for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are here. This beta exclusively to players who pre-ordered the game is taking place from August 21 to 25.

Upon launch, the beta attracted up to 115,145 concurrent players on Steam. It was a strong start that, unfortunately, quickly lost steam. Over the past 24 hours, the peak number of concurrent users has dropped to 43,304, nearly three times fewer than at launch.

Of course, these figures should be taken with a grain of salt, as they only apply to the Steam version. Furthermore, the open beta running from August 28 to September 1 should provide a better indication of the level of excitement (or lack thereof) surrounding Modern Warfare 4.
