This weekend, a rumor about the development of Ori 3 by Saber Interactive spread across the internet like wildfire. All signs point to it being announced at Gamescom or during an XBOX Developer_Direct this fall.

However, one person has come forward to contradict these claims from insider NateTheHate. That person is Thomas Mahler, the CEO and creative director of Moon Studios. It’s worth noting that he also directed the first two Ori games.

In a post on X, he stated that he hasn’t "heard anything about this." He also explained that Moon Studios is internally considering buying back the license from Microsoft and doubts that "any other studio could really do much with it."

In a second post, Mahler doubled down, declaring that "the Ori 3 rumors are nonsense." Stay tuned…
