Bungie reportedly had five or six games in development at the time it got acquired by Sony
Back in January 2022, Sony acquired Bungie for $3.6 billion. Through this acquisition, the Japanese company hoped to gain some leverage in the live-service genre, though that strategy ended up backfiring…
In a recent video posted on YouTube, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that at the time of the acquisition, Bungie had five or six games in development in addition to Destiny 2. Two of them, Marathon and Destiny: Rising, were eventually released but failed to find success. The others were likely scrapped.
Schreier did not provide further details on the collapse of these projects. He mentioned that he will revisit the topic in another video.
