Several images from the canceled Star Wars: Magellan have leaked
We’ve just learned of Star Wars: Magellan, and it’s a game we’ll sadly never be able to play. This title by Echtra Games (which was shut down by Zynga last June) ended up being canceled.
Magellan was a AAA action-RPG whose development had been confirmed in early 2021. A former developer has released clips and other preliminary visuals from the project. Featuring a third-person perspective, the game would have let players take on the role of a Jedi or a Mandalorian in a multiplayer looter-shooter. The art style was similar to that of Star Wars: Hunters.
The player’s avatar possessed various abilities to take on iconic Star Wars enemies such as the Empire, stormtroopers, and formidable droids. Missions would have involved locating a character or a warehouse, destroying a communications network, and searching containers. A system for interacting with NPCs was also part of the narrative.
Star Wars: Magellan was being developed using Unreal Engine 5 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
