Owners of a Steam Deck equipped with an LCD screen may be in for a shock. The iFixit store, which sells official components for the handheld device, has raised the price of a key part.

The Steam Deck LCD battery now sells for €184.95 each. Its original price was $79.99 before rising to $129.99 at the beginning of the month. Note that the battery for the OLED version is priced at €64.95. Thus, the Steam Deck OLED isn’t affected by this sudden price hike.

In any case, Valve and iFixit have not provided any explanation for this increase. The batteries on the site are indeed sourced from the official Steam Deck supply chain.
