A feature much loved by Pokémon fans will disappear next year. Pokémon Bank will soon be closing down.

The storage app, which was originally launched on the 3DS in 2013 and could hold up to 3,000 Pokémon in the cloud, will officially shut down on February 26, 2027, at 3 a.m. BST / February 25, 2026 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. Although it was already removed from sale following the closure of the 3DS eShop in March 2023, the app still operated as a free service.

The Pokémon Bank is compatible with the games Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, and Pokémon Ultra Moon.
