On August 3, as part of a routine update to fix a few issues, Battlefield 6 had its Rush mode removed from Quick Play. This means that the mode in question is no longer directly accessible via the Portal.

Players immediately criticized this decision, and one of them took it a step further. The user ExplorEverythingOnce deemed the disappearance of the Rush mode as "unacceptable", so he requested a refund for his Phantom Edition, which he had purchased on Steam at launch.

As crazy as it may seem, and despite having logged 470 hours of gameplay, the player was refunded $109.24. Steam normally only grants refunds within two weeks of a game’s purchase.

"I contacted Steam Support and explained that several game modes had been removed without notice nearly a year after the game’s release. I provided them with a link to the Battlefield website, which lists all the modes normally available via matchmaking, as well as to today’s community post.

The customer service representative I spoke with acknowledged that this wasn’t normal and therefore refunded me the full amount I had paid for the Phantom Edition on the day of its release."

However, several internet users have doubts about the authenticity of this story, despite the screenshots provided by the person involved. In any case, it’s best to take it with a grain of salt.
