No Man's Sky turns 10 today
Back on August 9, 2016, the world was introduced to a highly ambitious indie game called No Man’s Sky. It was a highly controversial launch for a game that, at the time, fell far short of delivering on all the promises made during the aggressive marketing campaign led by PlayStation.
Fortunately, the British studio Hello Games had what it took and simply turned the game’s fortunes around, even though it seemed destined for failure. So, ten years and some forty major updates later, No Man’s Sky has become a trusted staple respected by players everywhere.
Over the years, the game has gained a true multiplayer component, a creative mode, greater diversity in its planets, additional ships, and a comprehensive graphical overhaul. The developers have even managed to release the game on all platforms.
This year, the open-world sci-fi game is celebrating its tenth anniversary in the best possible way. Hello Games will continue to roll out new features while preparing its next major title, Light No Fire.
