Square Enix reports a sharp increase in quarterly earnings
It’s not just Capcom that’s doing extremely well when it comes to Japanese publishers. In fact, Square Enix has reported very positive results for the fiscal quarter that ended on June 30, 2026.
The company’s revenue is up 32.3% compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, operating income climbed by 88.6%. Square Enix has highlighted the excellent performance of its HD games, such as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Switch 2 and Xbox Series, as well as The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. The announcement of the upcoming expansion for Final Fantasy XIV has also proved beneficial when it comes to the MMO segment.
Finally, the merchandise division posted a 22.3% increase, the activities and leisure division a 3.8% increase, and the publishing division an 11% increase. All signs are positive for Square Enix.
