Released on April 16, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch and boasting a Metacritic score of 77/100, the comedic life simulator Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has already outsold its predecessor, Tomodachi Life for the 3DS (2013).

Nintendo stated in its latest financial report that 7.96 million copies have been sold. The 3DS title, meanwhile, sold a total of 6.73 million copies, which still ranks it 11th among the best-selling 3DS games.

With this new installment on Switch, the franchise has set a new record.
