Microsoft certainly intends to expand its backward compatibility program in the coming years. Four games from the original XBOX just came out on PC, and these will clearly not be the last.

In fact, the XBOX 360 catalog is also expected to be available on PC as early as next year or by 2028. Devs will then be able to decide for themselves whether they want to port their XBOX 360 titles to PC and Project Helix. They’ll also choose whether they want their games to be included in XBOX Game Pass.

Through another program, players who own an XBOX 360 disc will be able to insert it into their console to obtain a digital copy that can be used on PC. All of this, of course, still needs to be formally explained by Microsoft.
