Razer announces the acquisition of the streaming platform StreamElements

The week ends with an acquisition that’s been the subject of rumors for several days now. Razer, the computer peripherals manufacturer, has officially announced the acquisition of StreamElements.

The Singapore-based company confirmed the merger via an FAQ posted on the website of the platform, which specializes in managing and hosting live content (Twitch, YouTube, etc.). The terms of the agreement have not yet been publicly disclosed.

From now on, StreamElements will operate independently as a subsidiary of Razer.

"The goal is to preserve the tools creators rely on daily, improve long-term platform stability, and connect creators to a broader ecosystem of hardware, software, rewards, affiliate opportunities, and sponsorship programs."

There are no changes to the platform’s operations expected. Only SEPay, StreamElements’ payment processing service, will cease operations as of December 31, 2026. From then onwards, donations and tips will need to be made via PayPal.
