The Elder Scrolls Online director has written a letter to the community regarding the future of the game
In a message to the community, Game Director Nick Giacomini acknowledges that The Elder Scrolls Online is going through a period of transition following several organizational changes and departures within the studio.
He seeks to reassure players, however: development of ESO is continuing, and the MMO remains the team’s top priority.
Due to this reorganization, several anticipated features—including class overhauls—are being delayed to allow more time for development. Update 51 will arrive a week late, on September 28, but will still include the Nowhere Vault dungeon, the new Rumors system, and numerous improvements to the gameplay experience. Three-team battlegrounds will also make a permanent return.
To compensate for these delays, players will receive additional rewards, including a campaign offering up to 20 free Crown Crates. The studio assures players that the seasonal model remains in place and that new content (particularly related to Skyrim) is planned for 2027 and beyond.
Finally, Bethesda promises more transparent communication to regain the trust of its community and continue to grow ESO in the long term.
