Today’s a big day for fans of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, who can now enjoy the Switch 2 Edition digitally. It obviously offers better resolution and a higher frame rate (4K60 when docked, 1080p at 60 when in handheld mode), but also includes a new mode called Merc Assault, a new blade, and a quest exclusive to Nintendo’s latest console.

You can purchase this edition for $69.99 or buy just the upgrade for $9.99 if you already own the standard Switch version.

As a reminder, Nintendo plans to release a Switch 2 version for each of the four Xenoblade Chronicles games, so that they all have an enhanced version playable in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Here’s a summary:

• Xenoblade Chronicles X: digital release in February, physical release in April
• Xenoblade Chronicles: digital release in June, and physical release today (July 30)
• Xenoblade Chronicles 2: digital release today (July 30) and physical release in October 2026
• Xenoblade Chronicles 3: digital and physical releases in December 2026
