The multiplayer mode for Gears of War: E-Day has been revealed, and it looks great
Here we have a brand-new 13-minute video posted on the XBOX YouTube channel. It showcases gameplay from Horde Siege, a multiplayer mode in Gears of War: E-Day.
For those unfamiliar with it, this is an alternative game mode presented as a reimagining of the franchise’s iconic cooperative PvE survival mode. In this installment, it’s back redesigned with larger maps, more players, and increasingly intense battles.
In fact, up to 12 players are divided into three squads tasked with simultaneously defending different sectors of the city of Kalona against waves of Locusts. Cooperation is of the essence here, with four complementary classes featuring unique abilities and objectives that evolve as the game progresses.
The battles are more dynamic than in classic Horde mode, thanks to larger maps, unexpected events, and a wider variety of enemies. The quality of the staging and the intensity of the combat are particularly noteworthy, reinforcing the feeling of participating in a true, large-scale battle. At the same time, the 4v4 competitive multiplayer mode will also make a return.
The mode is designed to be replayable, featuring progression, seasonal challenges, and unlockable rewards. Horde Siege could potentially become one of the most interesting attractions of Gears of War: E-Day, giving effectively a new lease of life at a much-beloved formula.
