Final Fantasy XIV will release on Switch 2 next August 4, allowing Nintendo fans to experience the famous MMORPG for the first time. That being said, you’ll need to free up some space on the console before downloading it.

Without a microSD Express card to expand the console’s storage, the 256 GB of internal storage will quickly run out. In fact, Final Fantasy XIV will take up exactly 117.2 GB on the Switch 2, a record for a title released for the Japanese manufacturer’s hybrid console.

The expansions Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail are included in this total. But when the next expansion, Evercold, is released in January 2027, the Switch 2 version will take up even more space.
