The Steam Deck sales have reportedly plummeted by more than 75% since the price hike

On May 27, Valve implemented a substantial price increase for the Steam Deck. Consumers must now pay at least €779 to purchase the most affordable model in the lineup. As might be expected, this decision appears to have had a significant commercial impact.

According to Boiling Steam, Steam Deck sales have plummeted by more than 75%. Previously estimated at between 11,000 and 18,000 units per week, sales are now reportedly between just 1,400 and 3,000 units per week.

It’s worth noting that this apparent sales slump could also be caused by a component shortage that’s preventing Valve from shipping large numbers of units. In any case, these figures should be taken with a grain of salt, as they are estimates.

At the time of this writing, the Steam Deck ranks 8th on Steam’s best-seller list, ahead of the Steam Controller and games like MECCHA CHAMELEON and GTA V. Sales may therefore have rebounded since the publication of Boiling Steam’s report.
