Emulating games from current-generation consoles on PC is still in its infancy. However, one internet user may have pulled off a minor feat.

Indeed, a user named RSantila claimed in a post on Discord to have successfully run Astro Bot using the SharpEmu emulator. This is a PS5 emulator available on PC. The PS5 exclusive, released in 2024 exclusively on Sony’s console, thus appears to have taken a major step forward in terms of PC emulation. For now, we don’t know if the Team Asobi title is actually playable this way.

Additionally, one user pointed out that the SharpEmu emulator has seen its popularity skyrocket since Sony’s decision to stop producing physical game discs starting in January 2028.
