There appears to have been some confusion regarding the initial information about the native Switch 2 ports of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II. Square Enix has now confirmed that these versions will be released on October 1, 2026. The games will be available in both digital and physical formats.

The frame rate and resolution will be improved compared to the Switch versions. Note that save data will not be transferable. The bundle containing both titles is available for pre-order for €74.99 on the eShop. Octopath Traveler II is sold separately for €59.99.

Starting today, Square Enix will offer native Switch 2 versions of two of its HD-2D RPGs: Octopath Traveler and its sequel, Octopath Traveler II.

Starting this Monday, July 13, 2026, Switch 2 players will be able to visit the eShop to purchase both titles. Prices have not yet been announced. It’s also unclear whether Switch save files will be transferable.
