Ubisoft: the average employee salary has fallen 4% in one year

While the commercial success of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced appears to be on the horizon, Ubisoft is still far from being out of the woods. This is evident in the 356-page annual report, which contains a wealth of information about the company.

The average annual salary for the company’s employees has fallen by 4% compared to last year. It now stands at €69,399 per year, down from €71,940 previously. This isn’t the only striking point in the document…

For example, employees under 30 account for 19.6% of the workforce, down from 23.7% the previous year. In total, Ubisoft had 16,590 employees in March 2026. This figure is down from the 17,782 employees recorded in March 2025. Layoffs have clearly played a role here.

Finally, Ubisoft also highlights the major risks surrounding modern game releases. The publisher mentions, for example, competition from other AAA titles, major technological innovations, and the fear of releasing a game too late.
