ZeniMax Media (Bethesda Softworks) has reportedly laid off a total of 158 people in Texas

A notice of mass layoffs filed in Texas gives us a sense of the scale of ZeniMax Media’s major reset for Xbox. The parent company of Bethesda Softworks has suffered heavy losses.

The publisher laid off no fewer than 158 people in the southern U.S. state. Of that total, 96 people worked at the offices of id Software, the studio responsible for the DOOM franchise. Added to that are 40 remote workers affiliated with the company, bringing the total number of positions eliminated to 136.

The remaining 22 employees who were laid off were at Bethesda Game Studios in Austin.
