Niantic (Pokémon GO) changes names to Scopely Explore
After being acquired by Scopely in March 2025 for $3.5 billion, Niantic has rebranded. The studio behind the Pokémon GO hit and Monster Hunter Now has just adopted a new name.
Niantic has become Scopely Explore. The team wanted to emphasize the exploration aspect of its games. The developers will continue to focus on creating games that encourage players to get out of the house and connect with the world.
The new name will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
