We’ve just received further information about the restructuring led by Xbox. It affects all divisions of the company, including ZeniMax Media.

Apart from Arkane Lyon, which is expected to be sold, no Bethesda studios will be closed. However, layoffs have already taken place. According to Jeff Gardiner, CEO of Something Wicked Games and former project director at Bethesda Game Studios (BGS), 35 people were laid off at BGS. Gardiner clarified that this information has not been fully confirmed.

Additionally, Gardiner stated in another post on X that 95 developers at id Software (DOOM) were reportedly laid off, which would represent nearly 50% of the studio. Finally, Obsidian (The Outer Worlds) has also reportedly shed some staff.
