While Microsoft no longer reports Game Pass figures, there are other organizations that can fill in the gap. This time, it’s The Wall Street Journal that has revealed the number of subscribers to the American company’s service.

According to the report, XBOX Game Pass currently has approximately 30 million subscribers. In 2023, a post on LinkedIn cited a similar figure. A year later, the total had reached 34 million subscribers. Simply put, this means the service’s growth has, at best, stagnated over the past three years.

In documents released as part of the Activision Blizzard acquisition, Microsoft projected reaching 77 million subscribers by 2026 and 100 million by 2030. Suffice it to say, the company is still a long way from meeting those targets.
