Microsoft reportedly believes its investment in Minecraft was far from enough
To secure its future, XBOX has decided to focus on its big franchises. Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, Halo, and Forza Horizon will remain in the spotlight.
Furthermore, Minecraft will also be pretty important. According to Game File journalist Stephen Totilo, Asha Sharma, the president of XBOX, believes that the previous management "significantly underinvested" in the Mojang franchise. The source states that while Minecraft and Roblox were the same size six years ago, Roblox has since invested five times as much in its business.
Furthermore, we’ve learned that Minecraft was possibly used as a source of funding for other XBOX projects. Going forward, Mojang may be able to benefit directly from these strong results to further develop the game’s ecosystem.
