While Kratos won’t be the central character in God of War Laufey, the famous God of War won’t be relegated to the sidelines of the franchise.

Santa Monica Studio sought to reassure fans via a message posted on X. Indeed, the developer states that it still has many stories to tell about Kratos.

"Kratos is the God of War – we have many more stories to tell with him. For now, we’re excited to take fans on a journey into the afterlife of the gods with Faye and hope you’ll come along for the ride!"

In an interview, Cory Barlog, the studio’s creative director, also confirmed this information.

“It’s exciting. Faye, even though she’s different, is an integral part of the larger universe we want to explore, with all these different characters. There’s always going to be Kratos games, like, throughout the whole history. We’re super excited about that."*
